From IndependentPublisher.com: “The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards are designed to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading…As our society has become more complex and growing up more complicated, children’s book authors and publishers have risen to the occasion, creating books that not only celebrate the joys of childhood, but also help kids and families deal with its challenges. The Moonbeam Awards will recognize and reward the best of these books and bring them to the attention of parents, booksellers, librarians – and to children themselves.”
Mooseclumps has been awarded the silver medal in the Children’s Book category for the 2013 Readers’ Favorite Book Awards! This distinction includes an invitation to the Miami International Book Fair in November.
Mooseclumps was pitted against submissions from major publishers like Random House, Penguin, Harper Collins, and Simon & Schuster. I can’t thank Readers’ Favorite enough for giving an independently published book a fighting chance (this includes the countless authors, publishers, agents, and other industry professionals who took part in the judging process).
Readers’ Favorite has received the Best Websites for Authors and Honoring Excellence Awards from the Association of Independent Authors.Comments
I’m extremely proud to announce that Mooseclumps will now be available at Quail Ridge Books and Music on Wade Avenue in Raleigh, NC!
For those of you who don’t already know, Quail Ridge isn’t just any ol’ bookstore. It’s a 9,400 square foot literary temple; home to over 70,000 titles. It is undoubtedly the highest-profile bookseller in the Triangle and has welcomed the likes of Orson Scott Card, Kevin Henkes, and even the impeccable David Sedaris for book signings.
It’s impossible to convey just how thrilled I am to be invited into Quail Ridge. It has truly become a staple of my hometown and I encourage all of you to click the link on the right or (better yet) visit the store in person and pick up your copy of Mooseclumps. BUY LOCAL!
